Lipton Green Milk Tea

I always scout for new ready to drink milk tea at 7-Eleven. I got excited when I spotted the Lipton Green Milk Tea the other day. I thought it would replace my craving for Pokka's Green Tea Milk Tea which 7-Eleven used to sell years ago. I couldn't even find it in Japan now, so I've been just drinking matcha at Nana's Green Tea.

I always like to pour ready to drink milk tea in a glass with ice. That's what I did when I got home. I had a lot of difficulty opening the bottle. Even my trusty rubber band couldn't get it open. I finally wedged it open and poured half of the content into the glass. Immediately tried it and memories of Bali came pouring in my mind. A decade ago my brother bought bottles of tea to drink. The drink tasted like we drank flowers. Lipton Green Milk Tea tasted more like flowers than green tea with milk. I guess they meant by green = garden/nature/flowers. We only finished the bottle because I tricked my son to finish it hehe. 

Lipton Green Milk Tea is best for people who have a palate for flowery stuff.

Gold Roast Teh Tarik

I'm such a milk tea addict, I asked my Mom to get me some in Jakarta I can sample. It was my sister-in-law who took up my request and she's so far brought home two different brands for me.

The latest pasalubong she brought me is Gold Roast Teh Tarik.

I had just finished the second pack of my now-favorite instant milk tea (which I haven't even blogged about yet!), but I instantly fell in love with Gold Roast Teh Tarik. I just tried it on Easter Sunday and I think I'm already half-way through the pack. Oh noes!

Anyway, what I try to do is compare the taste of the instant milk tea to the bus terminal in Singapore teh tarik which Drew and I really liked. And so far Gold Roast Teh Tarik is the closest to it! It's just right because it isn't too sweet, the tea isn't bitter and it doesn't have a citrus after-taste.

I hope I can find some here locally.

Max Tea Tarikk (Instant Milk Tea)

I managed to sample Max Tea Tarikk because of my friend Brian who recently visited Singapore. He gave me two brands to try out and Max Tea Tarikk was one of them. As I've been accustomed to, I added a teaspoon of condensed milk which I shouldn't have done since Max Tea Tarikk was sweet enough. This one tasted a bit like Super Milk Tea since it had a citrus after-taste.

Owl Teh Tarik (Instant Milk Tea)

Owl Teh Tarik (hand-pulled milk tea) is probably one of the best instant milk tea brands I've sampled. It's the closest rendition of hand-pulled milk tea in powder form. I couldn't help but ooh and aah when I first tasted it and had to stop myself from finishing the pack I bought from Singapore in a week. It because too sweet though when I added condensed milk, but was perfect when I added fresh milk on another day. Definitely getting several packs when I visit Singapore again.

Super Milk Tea (Instant 3-in-1)

I just tried Super's instant milk tea just now. Tasted like milk tea from hawker centers but with a citrus twist aftertaste. I think I should have added some condensed milk when I had a glass. It's not so bad though, I think I'll have another try soon.

Mr. Tea Milk Tea (Instant 3-in-1)

I got a pack of Mr. Tea instant Milk Tea in Singapore during my last trip. I was actually looking for a pack of Gold Kili Milk Tea since I loved its taste so I just got a pack of Mr. Tea's instant milk tea instead. (Since it's called Mr. Tea, I kinda thought I'd find Mr. T's photo on it, LOL).

Immediately tried it when I got home in Manila and thought it tasted like milk tea sold at hawker centers. Just added a teaspoon of condensed milk to make it a bit sweeter. It's one of my frequent afternoon delights.

Pokka Milk Tea at SM Hypermarket!

I've been quite worried about my instant milk tea stash. My Gold Kili pack is dwindling fast and I'm still trying to find somebody who can get me some from Singapore.

We were trying to find a good brand of Mint tea the other day at SM Hypermarket when we chanced upon (at the bottom of the shelf) a couple of Pokka Milk Tea! The cans looked like people were ignoring it (good for me!). I got one can and tried it out during dinner. It tasted better than the Pokka Milk Tea I got in Singapore! Not sure why, but the canned one tasted a lot better.

So when we did our groceries last weekend I got several cans. Weeee!

Gold Kili Instant Milk Tea

So I got the chance to go to Singapore last week. I made sure to drink at least one glass of iced tea with milk every day since I won't be able to do that locally. One of the things I made sure to look for was instant tea milk since I was quite disappointed with the last one I tried.

I had a hard time choosing which brand to buy when we went to Cold Storage on Orchard Road. I wanted to buy several packs but was afraid of going overweight so I finally chose Gold Kili only because it seemed to be the most in demand (few left on the shelf).

And it was a good choice. Tastes a bit sharp though. A teaspoon of condensed milk takes the sharpness out and makes it the perfect instant milk tea.

Instant Tea Milk

We're seriously back-logged for this blog but I can assure you that both Drew and I have been scouring our individual cities for yummy tea drinks.

Saw this instant tea milk (Galingco Nai Cha) the other day at the grocery so I got one pack to try it out. I dissolved it first with some hot water before I added cold water and ice.

My take? Good thing I just bought 1 pack.
