Kozui Green Tea

Headed to Kozui Green Tea at Tomas Morato with a couple of friends after attending an event. It was just two blocks away from the event so Sweetie and I just walked. It was nestled between an internet cafe and a resto. Everything was green inside Kozui and I felt totally refreshed after walking under the sun.

I immediately scanned the menu for milk tea (addict!) and found that they had tea lattes. Of course, majority of the drinks available had green tea as its base (obviously!). Most of my friends had fruit teaz, flavored green tea. Here's Karla's drink, flavored green tea with lemon (Sweetie had his with raspberry):

So I spoiled the fun and ordered iced black tea latte since I thought it would be the best tasting milk tea drink. I liked it but just found it a little bitter (I like my milk tea sweet).

Juned had some "green tea halo-halo" (I forgot to get its exact name). I had a spoonful of green tea ice cream and loved it. I'll definitely get some green tea ice cream next time I have the chance to visit Kozui.

And I hope next time I'll have some space in my tummy to try out their snacks like this takoyaki balls that Sha and Karla shared.

Mr. Tea Milk Tea (Instant 3-in-1)

I got a pack of Mr. Tea instant Milk Tea in Singapore during my last trip. I was actually looking for a pack of Gold Kili Milk Tea since I loved its taste so I just got a pack of Mr. Tea's instant milk tea instead. (Since it's called Mr. Tea, I kinda thought I'd find Mr. T's photo on it, LOL).

Immediately tried it when I got home in Manila and thought it tasted like milk tea sold at hawker centers. Just added a teaspoon of condensed milk to make it a bit sweeter. It's one of my frequent afternoon delights.

Tea at Caffe Ti-amo

I was pleasantly surprised when we were served peppermint and lemon grass tea at Caffe Ti-Amo during their store blessing today. The store manager brought us this cool looking device and explained that they would steep fresh tea leaves in it. You just need to place hot water, the tea leaves and wait 15 minutes. When it's ready just put it on the cup and it will automatically transfer the tea sans the leaves.

I tried out the peppermint tea and I almost finished off the whole cup since it was really good. One order is about PhP100 (huge serving!). And they also sell the tea gadget for about PhP2K.

Mine Shine

Milk tea fanatics will surely love this treasure my husband and I discovered at 7-Eleven. Yes, 7-Eleven!!!

Introducing, Mine Shine, a ready to drink milk tea beverage available at all 7-Eleven stores. At first we only found it at one of the branches in Makati, but it eventually became available in the 7-Eleven store near our home (hooray for that!).

How does it taste? It tastes like the hokkaido milk tea at Serenitea. Far from the taste of Pokka's and Royal milk tea since it doesn't have a citrus tinge.

Definitely something I'm storing in my ref. Thank you 7-Eleven!

Amaretto Tea Latte, Serenitea

My husband loves amaretto. He orders amaretto coffee whenever it's available. He loves it so much that I once had a long line of tweets with other tweeters about how to find this flavoring. Also tried to look for it locally but I have been unsuccessful.

So you can just imagine how he lit up when he saw listed in Serenitea's menu the Amaretto Tea Latte. He also had coffee jelly with it and just had 75% sweetness level.

And his reaction? (He mistakenly posted it on Plurk when I asked him what he thought about the drink).

Okinawa Milk Tea, Serenitea

The first drink I ordered at Serenitea was the Okinawa Milk Tea. I had a hard time choosing since they had a long list of milk tea choices. Good thing the tea barista was helpful and describe how the different choices tasted. I was still confused though (probably because I was so excited) so I ended up choosing the #1 choice in their top ten list.

The Okinawa Milk Tea (#2 choice though in their San Juan branch).

I did not go wrong in my choice since I liked it very much. Drew asked me how it tasted and I said, "It's not floral. Not lemon-y." I want my milk tea flat, not bitter and not too sweet so the Okinawa Milk Tea at 75% sweetness level was just perfect. I had a hard time adjusting to the pearls though since I've always had my milk tea straight (no add ons like pearls, crystals or what-not). I'll probably have the barista lessen the amount of pearls next time.

Serenitea Cha Kitchen

There's a number of tea places sprouting around the Metro and I heard about Serenitea from Plurker friends. We immediately looked for a chance to go to BF Homes in Paranaque. We found our excuse when Miguel said that he had class on a Saturday. We promptly volunteered to pick him up (even though the school bus could've brought him home).

We were famished by the time we got to Serenitea. It wasn't hard to find on Aguirre Avenue in BF Homes. It was just a few establishments away from Chi's Brick Oven. Just go straight on Aguirre Avenue and you won't miss it.

At Serenitea we were greeted by a very pleasant attendant. She painstakingly introduced us how to choose and order and also gave an overview on how the beverages differed from one another. The top ten list she showed us was also very helpful in guiding us what to order.

So essentially you have to choose your drink, your toppings and the sweetness level. For starters I got a large glass of Okinawa Milk Tea with pearls. I didn't want to push the limits of my tonsils so I said that the sweetness level should just be at 75%. I'll post about the other drinks we got on a separate post.
